OKX WebSocket Port 8443 Discontinuation Announcement

Published on Sep 30, 20262 min read

Dear OKX API users,

To support a network infrastructure upgrade, OKX will stop accepting WebSocket connections on port 8443, including Colo connections:

  • Public internet: October 31, 2026

  • Colo: November 16, 2026

What's changing

Port 443 already works on all affected domains, including Colo, and both ports remain available until these dates. After these dates, connections to port 8443 will fail. This is a breaking change.

Affected domains

  • Public internet, production: ws.okx.com, wseea.okx.com, wsus.okx.com

  • Public internet, demo trading: wspap.okx.com, wseeapap.okx.com, wsuspap.okx.com

  • Colo: all Colo WebSocket connections

This applies to every path, including /ws/v5/public, /ws/v5/private, /ws/v5/business and, on the Global site, /ws/v5/public-sbe.

Action required

Remove :8443 from your WebSocket URLs before October 31, 2026 (Colo: before November 16, 2026). Only the port changes; the host and path stay the same. wss:// uses port 443 by default, and :443 also works.

  • Before: wss://ws.okx.com:8443/ws/v5/public

  • After: wss://ws.okx.com/ws/v5/public

What's not affected

  • REST API
