Spot Margin Trading Sunset: OKX Brazil
In line with Brazilian VASP regulatory requirements, OKX is discontinuing spot margin trading for users served by our Brazil entity. This includes cross and isolated margin, margin borrowing (including auto-borrow), and any automated strategies tied to margin, across Web, App, and API, including sub-accounts.
Timeline:
October 14, 2026: Users are notified that margin trading and coin borrowing will be discontinued.
October 14-30, 2026: New margin borrowing is disabled. Existing loans can still be repaid during this period.
October 30, 2026, 23:59:59 (GMT-3, Brasília time): Deadline for users to close their own margin positions and repay any outstanding debt.
After this cutoff: any margin position still open will be automatically closed, and margin trading will be fully unavailable.
What this means for you:
Close any open margin position and repay outstanding debt before October 30, 2026, 23:59:59 (Brasília time).
Positions still open after this cutoff will be closed automatically.
Spot trading (buy and sell) is not affected.
New margin borrowing is no longer available starting October 14, 2026.
