Why do I need to verify my private wallet address, and how do I do it?

If your deposit or withdrawal asks you to verify a private wallet address, follow the steps shown for that transfer. This control test checks that you are in control of the wallet address you are interacting with.

We recommend Digital Signature if it’s available in your verification flow. Connect your wallet and sign a verification message. No crypto is sent, and there’s no network transaction fee.

How do I verify with Digital Signature?

Select Digital Signature and choose a connection option shown on your screen.

Connect the wallet account that controls the exact address in your verification request, then approve the message in your wallet. If you connect to a different account or address, verification will fail.
Once you’ve signed, return to OKX to complete any remaining steps.

Which options might I see?

Network

Digital Signature options

Bitcoin (BTC)

OKX Wallet or a supported hardware wallet

EVM-compatible networks

OKX Wallet or WalletConnect

Solana, TRON, Sui, Aptos and Cosmos

OKX Wallet

Available options can vary by network, app or website, and device. Use the options shown in your own verification flow.

How do I verify with a Satoshi test?

If Satoshi Test is offered in your transfer flow, send the exact asset and amount shown on-screen from the address being verified to the verification address provided.
You have to complete this within the displayed time limit. Unlike Digital Signature, this is an on-chain transfer and involves a network fee. Follow the instructions on your screen closely as we will need to match your deposit.

What if I can’t complete verification?

If your software wallet isn’t listed for Digital Signature, we recommend importing your existing wallet into OKX Wallet.

Then return to your verification flow and select the account with the matching address. Creating a new wallet won’t let you verify the address in your request.

OKX Wallet is self-custodial and separate from your OKX Exchange account. Importing a wallet doesn’t transfer its assets to Exchange.
Follow the import instructions in Can’t find your wallet? Learn how to complete digital signature verification. Only enter a recovery phrase or private key on the genuine OKX Wallet import screen.
If you use a hardware wallet, check the Hardware Wallet Verification FAQ for supported devices and address-matching help.

If you still can’t complete verification, contact Support through the official OKX app or website with the error shown. Never share your recovery phrase or private key.
