What is Available credit vs. Reserved balance?
What is Reserved Balance?
Reserved Balance is the supported stablecoins held in your Pay account as collateral for card purchases that have been authorized and have not yet been repaid. Your security deposit and reserved balance refer to this collateral.
Reserved stablecoins cannot be used or withdrawn while the related hold remains. They are collateral, not an additional fee. The same collateral is not used for multiple pending authorizations.
What is the Available Credit?
Available Credit is the amount you can use for new card purchases.
How do my Available Credit and Reserved Balance change when I make a purchase or repay my card?
When a purchase is authorized, the required stablecoins are reserved as collateral. Your available credit decreases and your reserved balance increases.
What happens next depends on how you repay:
Autopay: Reserved stablecoins are used to repay the purchase. Your reserved balance decreases, but your available credit doesn’t increase.
Manual repayment with USD: Once your payment is completed, the corresponding reserved stablecoins are released and replenish your available credit. Your reserved balance decreases and your available credit increases.
Manual repayment with reserved stablecoins: Those stablecoins are used to repay your card balance. Your reserved balance decreases, but your available credit doesn’t increase.
